The Field to Fork Show 30th & 31st July 2011 in association with Sainsburys.

Laverstoke Park Farm’s Field to Fork Festival, in association with Sainsbury’s combines county show with food festival and took place 30th and 31st July 2011.

Visitors got to experience life at Laverstoke Park Farm with tractor-trailor tours, woodland walks and sheepdog demonstrations; they also met our buffalos, pigs, sheep and took part in our workshops that included cheese and ale tasting, bread making and ice-cream making. We also hosted a great line up of chefs, who carried out demos, these included - James Martin, Tristan Welch and Laverstoke’s own Paul Blake from the Laverstoke cookery school amongst others.

Our partners Weber were on hand to assist festival go-ers on the BBQs, using Laverstoke’s awards winning meats from our Field Butchers, the social BBQ and picnic area was sizzling!

The Field to Fork Festival also features the British BBQ Championships, in partnership with Weber, Nigel Barden was at the helm for both the Amateur and Professionals BBQ Championships with James Martin heading up the judging of the amateurs, which after a nail biting battle on the coals was won by ‘Team Carnivor’.

The temperature hotted up for the pros, with feared food critics and writers – Charles Campion, Xanthe Clay and Fiona Sims alongside Nigel Barden -scrutinizing the dishes of our finalists who made it through the first rounds at Taste of London in June. Battling it out for the title at Laverstoke were - Last year’s champion Bruno Loubet, Atul Kochhar, Tristan Welch, Maze Grill, Salt Yard, Cinnamon Kitchen, Iberica, Butler’s Wharf Chop House, The Four Season’s Hampshire and Maria Elia at Joe’s.

It was a tough day for our chefs, but our 2009 winner – Cinnamon Kitchen came back from the ashes to re-claim the title from Bruno Loubet, who came in Joint second with Tristan Welch, in third place came Salt Yard and Benares.
